Hola Reader,

How is it March already??!!

So many things have happend in the last few weeks! Get ready because this newsletter is jam packed with all things travel and more.

👑 The Queen's Corner:

My dad is back home from the hospital and is recuperating after having a quintuple bypass open heart surgery 🎉. We have spent the last few weeks since he came home visiting doctors, getting additional examinations done and having tons of visits from nurses, health aides and more!

Also, I celebrated a 5 year milestone - my Cancerversary!

You may be thinking, "what the heck is a cancerversary?"

It is a term used to mark the anniversary of a cancer diagnosis, treatment milestone, or other significant event related to a person's journey with cancer. People may commemorate their cancerversary in many ways, such as with a gathering of friends and family, moments of personal reflection, or acts of kindness and support for others facing similar challenges.

I celebrate it because facing chemotherapy as someone who has a terrible phobia of needles, was one of the most challenging things I ever had to do in my entire life. I promised myself that I would make the most out of every second of life I had.

Naturally, I bought myself a plane ticket to commemorate this occasion. 🌎

"Don't you feel lonely while solo traveling?" Besides financials, this has to be one of the most asked questions amongst my IRL friends. People often wonder how I don't get bored or lonely while solo traveling for 1-2 months. If you are curious, here's how I deal with loneliness while solo traveling.

If you're looking for items to maximize your solo travels, check this out with things I personally use and recommend!

👑 Reader's Spotlight: I am still searching for solo travel stories to highlight. 👑 Travel-related news: South Korea launched its Digital Nomad Visa. The visa was launched on January 1st and is currently undergoing a trial basis. The visa lasts for 1 year and can be renewed for up to 1 additional year after it expires.

In order to be elegible for this "Workation Visa", you must be employed by a foreign company, making 85M Won or more (approximately $64,000 USD depending on currency exchange). You must have proof of health insurance and a clean criminal record. The visa allows a spouse and children under 18 to stay with the digital nomad for the duration of the visa without having to undergo separate visa applications. For more info, check out the Republic of Korea Visia Portal.

👑 If you have plans to travel to Death Valley National Park by April, you have the opportunity to do something very rare at "Lake Manly"!

👑 If you have plans to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort in 2025, you just earned a new perk! Disney Resort hotel guests arriving in 2025 can enjoy admission to one of the water parks, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, on their check-in day – included in their stay. Tickets regularly cost about $74 per person.

👑 Celebrations Around the World:
Latinas are making major strides in the travel industry, both in front of and behind the scenes. As travelers, writers, photographers, and content creators, we are sharing meaningful narratives that inspire inclusive and authentic experiences.

This March, we celebrate Women's History Month. I want to bring to light the impressive work of women we should all know about:

Nemonte Nenquimo an Indigenous leader from the Waorani community in the Ecuadorian Amazon, has become a prominent environmental activist. She has fiercely advocated for Indigenous land rights and the preservation of the Amazon rainforest. She gained international recognition for her role in a successful legal battle against oil drilling in Waorani territory, setting a precedent for Indigenous rights and environmental conservation.

Kim Haas is the founder of Afro Latino Travels, a TV travel show dedicated to celebrating Afro-Latino culture through travel. Kim curates unique experiences that highlight the rich heritage and contributions of Afro-Latinos. Through Afro Latino Travels, Kim aims to creates connections, promotes diversity, and empowers communities across the Afro-Latino diaspora. Her dedication to inclusive travel experiences makes her a trailblazer in the industry.

Nola Castañeda was a pioneer Female pilot from Colombia, known for her trailblazing achievements in aviation during the 1940s. Her daring flights and contributions to Colombian aviation history paved the way for future generations of female pilots. Castañeda's courage and determination made her a prominent figure in the early days of Colombian aviation, inspiring others to pursue their dreams of flight.

As we celebrate Women's History Month, I hope the stories of these impressive Latinas - past and present - inspire you to never give up on your dreams. Their courage, activism, and boundary-breaking achievements pave the way for the next generation of mujeres viajeras. Wherever your travels take you this month, remember that you stand on the shoulders of the fearless women who came before you. Stay curious, open-hearted and daring!

I'm honored to share this passion for travel with you. Thank you for being part of this community. Happy Women's History Month! Let's make some history of our own.

With boundless enthusiasm and gratitude,
